A legacy built on service.
Late Dr. Anant Huilgol was not merely an ophthalmologist — he was a force for public health in Karnataka, running community eye camps and serving patients who had no other means of access to care. His son-in-law, Dr. Shrikrishna G. Nadgouda, absorbed that ethic deeply.
When Dr. Nadgouda opened Jayapriya Hospital in 1987, he paired clinical excellence with a non-profit foundation — Jayapriya Medical Foundation — ensuring that the hospital's reach would always extend beyond its walls to the villages and towns of Northern Karnataka.
Today, nearly four decades on, the team he built has conducted over 75,000 eye operations, served more than 600,000 patients, and trained a new generation of surgeons who carry the same commitment forward.
